Would never bruise your soul
They'd make their mark
In kindness and friendship
Not gouge out chunks, but leave you whole

A true friend
Would always be there for you
They'd stick by you
Through thick and thin
Not run away like others do

A true friend
Would never put you down
They'd be honest
And make you feel the best
Not dump your hopes, but make them wear a crown

A true friend
Is someone just like you
They see the best
And leave the worst
You've proved to me you're true
